Here are some great wedding venues in the town:
•
Kent House - A beautiful historic property. Did a wedding for the first time here in August. This place is meticulously kept. The website says it can host a wedding for up to 150 guests, but when I talked with the proprietor, she said she could host up to 500. Looking at the size of the grounds and the room for parking (11 acres) I believe more the 500. I never knew about this place, and I would guess the majority of folks outside of Chester don't know about it either, which is a shame, because it is a great place to have a ceremony and reception. Latest news: Their website is no longer operative, but their FaceBook page says that although they would be closed for 2016, they would be reopening, so they're worth a phone call if you're interested. Wason Pond - Performed my first ceremony here on a beautiful April afternoon. This is a great site for a ceremony. There is a covered bridge on the property that makes for a great setting for a wedding. My couple chose to have their ceremony directly in front of the bridge. If it's a hot day, you could choose to be wed under cover of the bridge, but the rushing water creates a lot of noise, so you'd have to have your attendees be close and your Celebrant LOUD! Although, it is possible that the water flow slows down in Summer, so the water flow might not be as brisk or as noisy. In any case, I'm thinking that you wouldn't want to have a large gathering here, but up to 40 or 50 people might be appropriate. A few pictures:
